Rs 20,146 crore Kerala’s income arrears in March 2019: CAG report

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala’s complete income arrears amounted to Rs 20,146.39 crore in March 2019, says the CAG report on income sector for the fiscal ended that month. Of this, Rs 5,765.84 crore had been excellent for greater than 5 years. The  report was tabled within the meeting on Thursday. 

The arrears got here to round 22% of the overall income of the state, in keeping with the report. The overall income receipts of the federal government for that fiscal was Rs 92,854.48 crore as towards the earlier 12 months’s Rs 83,020.14 crore. Tax  and non-tax revenues constituted 67% of the receipts and the steadiness  33% was obtained from the Central authorities because the state’s share of  divisible union taxes and grants-in assist.

The report known as for pressing  intervention by the federal government to gather the excellent arrears. Out of  the overall arrears, Rs 5,564.64 crore (27.62%) was pending from the federal government or authorities our bodies. The audit noticed that six chosen  departments didn’t keep a complete and up-to-date database on  the arrears. “Absence of immediate reporting of arrears to the Income  Division and pursuance by the departments involved for realising the  arrears had been the principle causes for the massive pendency of arrears,” it mentioned.

RLys, KSEB owe a lot to police
The  arrears pending with the police division, L249.40 crore, is the price of offering guard providers 
Main defaulters had been Southern Railway and KSEB  whose arrears quantity to L146.31 crore (58.66%)
L56.53 crore pending from Authorities of India and 
L6.39 crore  from people, non-public corporations and personal corporations
