RAIPUR: The outlawed CPI (Maoist) has allegedly kidnapped seven native youths from Kunded at Jagargunda in Sukma district, about 500 km south of Raipur.

In keeping with the stories, the rebels, suspecting that the youths had appeared for the police recruitment check, took them away at some unknown location.

4 aged residents who had gone from Jagargunda to barter with the Maoists are but to return.

“Few villagers from Kunded village had gone to attend some social gathering (maybe wedding ceremony) couple of days in the past. They’re but to return to their houses. We try to establish the veracity of the details about them being taken captive by the Maoists,” Sunderraj P, Bastar zone inspector common of police instructed The New Indian Specific.

The Bastar police are gathering particulars concerning the whereabouts of the lacking youths.

Sukma is among the many seven Maoist affected districts within the battle zone of Bastar.
