21 Miners Trapped After Coal Mine Accident In China: Report

Eight miners have been rescued and 21 stay trapped in a coal mine that flooded in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous area, state-backed newspaper China Day by day reported on Sunday citing native authorities.

The accident occurred on Saturday night when 29 miners have been working on the mine in Hutubi county, within the Changji Hui autonomous prefecture, the report stated.

Rescue work is underway, the newspaper stated.
