KOLKATA: Voting share in 30 meeting seats that went to polls through the first part of West Bengal elections was 84.13 per cent, in response to an up to date report of the Election Fee.
Polling was “principally peaceable”, barring just a few sporadic incidents of violence, an EC official stated on Sunday.
Of the 30 seats that went to the polls on Saturday, 9 have been in Purulia, 4 every in Bankura and Jhargram, six in Paschim Medinipur, and 7 in Purba Medinipur district.
The best polling share of 86.32 was recorded within the Purba Medinipur district, adopted by Jhargram (84.74 per cent), Paschim Medinipur (84.71 per cent), Bankura (84.27 per cent) and Purulia (81.77 per cent).
“That is approximate information. We’re engaged on it and the ultimate determine shall be launched quickly,” the official advised PTI.
Until 5 pm on Saturday, 79.79 per cent polling was recorded.
Voting had begun at 7 am and concluded at 6.30 pm, with the timing prolonged by an hour and thirty minutes to make sure that COVID protocols are adopted.
Sporadic incidents of violence have been reported from varied locations that went to the polls through the first part of the state meeting elections, the EC official stated.

At the least 10 folks have been arrested for allegedly being concerned in incidents of violence that occurred in varied locations through the first part of polling.
The ruling TMC and the opposition BJP are in a fierce struggle within the state elections.
