BEIJING: China has summoned the European Union’s ambassador to protest in opposition to the sanctions imposed on Chinese language officers over the human rights violations in Xinjiang.
“On the night of March 22, Individuals’s Republic of China Vice Overseas Minister Qin Gang summoned the top of the EU delegation to the Individuals’s Republic of China, expressed a robust protest on behalf of the Chinese language authorities and strongly condemned the unilateral sanctions imposed on China just a few hours in the past underneath the pretext of the so-called human rights violations in Xinjiang,” Sputnik quoted the Chinese language Overseas Ministry’s assertion.
The US, Canada and the UK joined the European Union (EU) on Monday to take what they described as “coordinated motion” in opposition to China to ship “a transparent message concerning the human rights violations and abuses in Xinjiang”.
The sanctions blacklisted former and present officers within the Xinjiang area – Zhu Hailun, Wang Junzheng, Wang Mingshan and Chen Mingguo – for alleged abuses, which have sparked worldwide outrage.
