CAIRO: The loss of life toll in a collapse of a residential constructing within the Egyptian capital of Cairo has elevated to 23, the civil defence service mentioned on Sunday.
Twenty-five others had been injured within the collapse of the 10-storey constructing within the district of Jisr al-Suez in japanese Cairo on Saturday, the service added.
The reason for the collapse isn’t clear but, dpa information company reported. Some Egyptian media reported that the owner had illegally added 5 flooring to the constructing.
Lethal collapses of residential buildings are usually not unusual in Egypt. They’re usually blamed on poor upkeep of ageing buildings and violations of building rules.
