JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, stated it’s for the primary time within the historical past of the state that any ruling get together has gained consecutive bypolls.

He stated of the eight Meeting seats that went to polls after the 2018 Meeting elections, the Congress gained six and misplaced two seats historically held by the BJP-led NDA by a small margin.

“That is the primary time within the historical past of Rajasthan that the ruling get together has gained consecutive by-elections,” he stated in a tweet.

“This victory reveals that individuals have full religion in good governance and welfare insurance policies of our authorities. Equally, in future additionally, we will keep public belief,” Gehlot stated.

The ruling Congress on Tuesday gained the bypolls to the Vallabhnagar and Dhariawad Meeting segments in Rajasthan, pushing the opposition BJP to the third and fourth locations there.

Earlier than the bypolls, the Dhariawad seat was represented by the BJP and Vallabhnagar by the Congress.

With the win, the tally of the Congress within the 200-member Rajasthan Meeting reached 108 in opposition to BJP’s 71 MLAs.
