Hizbul militant amongst two killed in J-Okay encounter

SRINAGAR: A Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant, who had gone to Pakistan for arms coaching and returned final week, was among the many two ultras killed in an encounter with safety forces in Shopian on Saturday, police mentioned on Sunday.

Inspector-Common of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar mentioned the encounter in Wangam space of South Kashmir’s Shopian, which started on Saturday night, was over with the killing of two militants belonging to HM and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

“Two lethal terrorists have been killed within the operation. Certainly one of them Inatullah Sheikh, a resident of Shopian, was energetic since 2018 and had gone to Pakistan that 12 months for arms coaching. He returned final week solely. He was with HM,” the IGP mentioned right here.

Kumar mentioned the opposite militant Adil Malik, resident of Anantnag, belonged to LeT.
