PM Modi, Sheikh Hasina mesmerised by Maitree raag devoted to Bangabandhu

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi have been on Friday mesmerized by a raag composed by acclaimed Indian musician Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty who devoted the musical piece to Bangladesh’s Father of the Nation ‘Bangabandhu’ Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Pandit Chakrabarty, who composed the raag ‘maitree’ to have fun India-Bangladesh friendship, carried out it in entrance of Prime Minister Modi and Hasina and different dignitaries on the Nationwide Parade Floor right here.

“The raag moitree to commemorate 100 years of Mujib! Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty mesmerized the dignitaries and viewers with the raag he composed and devoted to Bangabandhu,” Arindam Bagchi, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Exterior Affairs, stated in a tweet.

It accommodates three compositions that are written in Sanskrit, Hindi and Bengali languages.

The Sanskrit one consists by Dr Arindam Chakraborti, a Professor on the Hawaii College within the US.


The Hindi lyric consists by Dr Susmita Basu Majumder and developed by Dr Ravi Burman, and the Bengali track is written by the disciple of Pandit Chakrabarty and younger maestro Anal Chatterjee.

All of the three songs are composed by Pandit Chakrabarty.Bdnews.24.com stated that Pandit Chakrabarty created the brand new raga titled ‘Maitree’ as a tribute to ‘Bangabandhu’ on the beginning centenary of Bangladesh’s founding father.
