Ramdas Athawale meets Kovind, calls for President’s rule in Maharashtra

NEW DELHI: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Thursday stated that he had met President Ram Nath Kovind and demanded President’s Rule in Maharashtra.

“The state of affairs in Maharashtra is uncontrolled. The federal government will not be in a position to management the surge in COVID-19 circumstances within the state. They aren’t in a position to deal with the legislation and order of the state,” Athawale instructed ANI.

”  met President Kovind and gave him a memorandum on behalf of RPI (A) occasion demanding the President’s Rule in Maharashtra. The state of affairs in Maharashtra is critical,” the union minister stated.

Referring to the allegations of the previous Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh over the involvement of house minister Anil Deshmukh’s involvement in extreme “malpractices”, he stated, “No inquiry can happen till the Maharashtra authorities is eliminated.”

Athawale had earlier despatched a letter to the Union House Minister Amit Shah, demanding President’s Rule in Maharashtra.

Talking to ANI, the union minister additional stated, “Rajya Sabha has handed the Authorities of Nationwide Capital Territory of Delhi (Modification) Invoice. This may give extra energy to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.”

“The structure was saved within the thoughts whereas passing the GNCTD Invoice,” he added.

The passing of the invoice within the Higher Home was met with a walk-out by opposition events together with Congress and the AAP, who strongly opposed the invoice. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed the passing of the invoice in Rajya Sabha a “unhappy day for democracy”.
