The village of Carmangay, Alta., has been evacuated as wildfires burn uncontrolled in southern Alberta.

Vulcan RCMP mentioned they have been helping within the evacuation. The grass fireplace spans about 11 to 16 kilometres and is presently uncontrolled, in response to RCMP.

RCMP is asking the general public to remain away from Freeway 520 east of Claresholm and Freeway 23 from Barons to Carmangay.

A put up from the Alberta Emergency Alert system mentioned two wildfires are situated east of Freeway 2, between the cities of Stavely and Fort Macleod.

Extra to return.
