THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amid the scare of a second wave of the pandemic within the state, SSLC and Increased Secondary (Plus-II) examinations started on Thursday in strict adherence to Covid protocol.
Whereas the Plus-II examination was held within the forenoon session in 2004 centres, SSLC examination was performed within the afternoon in 2,947 centres. Solely round 76,000 of the 4.46 lakh college students, who had enrolled for Plus-II examination, appeared on day one as the themes have been non-obligatory ones. The SSLC examination noticed the attendance of over 4.22 lakh college students.
“The exams have been performed easily with none untoward incidents being reported from the centres. Particular preparations have been made for college students who have been Covid constructive and people with signs. The graduation of examination instantly after the meeting election didn’t hamper its clean conduct,” Director of Normal Schooling Jeevan Babu Ok informed TNIE.
In response to Jeevan Babu, using lecture rooms as polling stations had no affect on implementing the Covid precautions in colleges. “All preparations have been made on Wednesday itself with the lively help of lecturers and PTAs in colleges,” he added.
In the meantime, the Plus-II Vocational Increased Secondary Schooling (VHSE) examinations will start on Friday. A complete of 28,565 college students — 17,104 boys and 11,461 ladies — will take the examinations in 389 centres. One other 59 college students will seem for the examination within the personal class. Whereas the SSLC examinations will finish on April 29, the Plus-II and VHSE examinations will conclude on April 26.
