RAIPUR: Three Naxals, one in all them carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, surrendered in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Sunday, police mentioned.

Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava claimed the cadres, who have been energetic in Katekalyan space of the district, have been impressed by the police’s ‘Lon Varratu’ rehabilitation drive and dissatisfied with the “hole” ideology of Maoists.

Out of the three rebels who surrendered, Budhram Kawasi (24) was energetic as a militia commander and actively concerned in incidents of damaging public property and placing up Maoist pamphlets, posters and banners, he mentioned.

He was carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, Pallava mentioned.

The 2 different cadres who laid down their arms have been recognized as Kosa alias Khuta Kawasi (22) and Lakhma Ram Kashyap (22), each militia members, he mentioned.

To this point, 327 Naxals, together with 87 carrying rewards on their heads, have surrendered in Dantewada, positioned about 400 km from Raipur, because the ‘Lon Varratu’ (which in native Gondi dialect means return to your private home/village) marketing campaign was launched in June final 12 months, the official mentioned.

Below the initiative, the Dantewada police have put up posters and banners in native villages of a minimum of 1,600 Naxals and appealed them to return to the mainstream.

Based on police, Naxals are annoyed with the success of this marketing campaign and therefore, they’ve been placing up posters and banners opposing it in south Bastar.
