Police had earlier reported the collision, and the mayor of Wolseley, Sask., confirmed there was a fatality. RCMP later confirmed the demise of on-duty officer Shelby Patton.
The city is in “utter shock and disbelief,” mentioned Wolseley Mayor Gerald Hill.
