A 59-year-old girl and a person have been killed and a four-year-old lady was injured in separate incidents of assaults by elephants in Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district on Monday, officers mentioned.

Prakash Ekka (55) and Dayamani Tirki have been trampled to loss of life by a pachyderm after they have been visiting their fields situated within the forest and gathering forest produce in Jamuna village beneath the Tapkara police station space, a forest official mentioned.
