THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  As many as 1,15,858 folks surrendered their precedence ration playing cards to the Civil Provides Division when the final date for ineligible beneficiaries to voluntarily give up their playing cards ended on July 15. Of them, 9,284 had been in AAY class, 61,612 within the PHH, and 44,962 in NPS. The utmost variety of playing cards had been surrendered in Malappuram district 25,021 adopted by Palakkad 13,038. Over 10,000 playing cards had been surrendered in Ernakulam and Kozhikode. 

Meals and Civil Provides Minister G R Anil stated ineligible beneficiaries will likely be changed with an equal variety of eligible households. Additionally, the state has requested the Centre to extend the state’s quota of precedence cardholders. The current variety of 1,54,80,000 is low when in comparison with different states, he stated. 

The minister stated that over Rs 500 crore will likely be spent on Onam particular kits.
