Coast guard recovers Rs 3000 cr value heroin, firearms, ammunition from Sri Lankan vessel

NEW DELHI: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) in an air-sea coordinated operation on March 15 recovered heroin of Rs 3,000 crores from a Srilankan vessel in Lakshadweep sea.

In line with Krishnaswamy Natarajan, Director Common of the Indian Coast Guard the operation was finished near Minicoy Island and the Coast guard has recovered 5 AK-47 rifles with 1000 dwell rounds and 300 Kg of heroin.

“On March 15, intelligence enter was obtained concerning a suspicious boat of overseas origin more likely to be engaged in drug trafficking within the Arabian sea.
