11 killed, 37 injured in gasoline explosion in China’s Hubei province

BEIJING: Not less than 11 folks have been killed and 37 others severely injured in an enormous gasoline explosion in central China’s Hubei Province on Sunday, official media reported.

The blast happened at about 6:30 am native time within the Zhangwan district of Shiyan metropolis.

Media reviews mentioned a market within the district was exhausting hit.

Eleven folks have been killed and 37 others injured within the explosion which has destroyed a number of buildings, state-run CGTN-TV reported.

Hong Kong-based South China Morning Submit reported that the explosion happened on the Yanhu market in Shiyan when many residents have been having breakfast or shopping for greens available in the market.

The town’s municipal workplace initially mentioned “many” folks have been trapped after the incident.

Pictures and video footages circulating on social media platform Weibo confirmed rescue employees working by means of the wreckage of flattened homes.

The reason for the accident is underneath investigation.
